Text display appears uneven

After downloading the 'exo' font from Google Fonts, I was pleased with how it appeared on my htc smartphone. However, on my laptop screen, it looked as if a swarm of caterpillars had nibbled away at it.

I attempted various techniques like anti-aliasing, text smoothing with shadows and blurs, but none seemed to make a difference.

Are there any other suggestions or tricks I can try, or should I start searching for a new font replacement? :'(

Answer №1

There is a common issue with certain fonts that can be addressed in two different ways:

  1. One option is to convert the font using and then utilize it.
  2. Alternatively, you can download the required font and use it by specifying src: url('path')

We hope one of these solutions will resolve the issue for you.

Answer №2

To improve the font rendering, consider adding the CSS property -webkit-font-smoothing: antialiased; to the body element.

If you're looking for some great Google fonts to try out, I recommend the following:

- Source Sans Pro - Lato - Open Sans

Hopefully, this information proves helpful in enhancing your design!
