Looking for a full-page banner within the Genesis Wordpress framework?

I am currently working on a website utilizing the Genesis framework for WordPress.

My main goal is to create a straightforward, full-width responsive layered banner. However, I have encountered an issue where this design is always confined within the container div, restricting its full width.

The layered aspect of the banner is also crucial as it requires a background with elements positioned on top of it.

Is there a recommended method or best practice to accomplish this design?

Answer №1

If you want to customize the header in your Genesis theme, it's recommended to utilize the genesis_before_header hook and insert your content there. Then, use HTML/CSS to style it according to your preferences:

add_action( 'genesis_before_header', 'custom_banner_header' );
function custom_banner_header() {
     get_template_part( 'inc/banner' );
}

To implement this, create a file named banner.php and place it in a folder called /inc within your theme or child theme directory. Insert your desired HTML content in the banner.php file for better organization rather than adding it directly into the function itself.
