Is it possible to customize the borders of boxes in Google Charts Treemap?

Although this may seem like a minor issue, I can't find any information in the documentation. I'm currently using Google Charts treemap for monitoring a specific project. The problem I'm facing is that when all the parent level rectangles are green, the sub-boxes aren't very clear as they are divided by thin white lines. Is there a way to customize the borders of each rectangle, such as making them black or increasing the width between each rectangle?

Answer №1

If you want to customize the CSS for the chart, remember that it is SVG-based.
To modify the border color, use code similar to the following:

rect {
  stroke: black;
  stroke-width: 2;
}

Take a look at this example below:

google.charts.load('current', {
  callback: function () {
    var data = google.visualization.arrayToDataTable([
      ['Location', 'Parent', 'Market trade volume (size)', 'Market increase/decrease (color)'],
      ['Global', null, 0, 0],
      // More data entries here...

    ]);

    new google.visualization.TreeMap(document.getElementById('chart_div')).draw(data, {
      minColor: '#f00',
      midColor: '#ddd',
      maxColor: '#0d0',
      headerHeight: 15,
      fontColor: 'black',
      showScale: true
    });
  },
  packages:['treemap']
});
rect {
  stroke: black;
  stroke-width: 2;
}

<div id="chart_div"></div>
