How to center a span using Twitter Bootstrap

As a newcomer to Twitter Bootstrap, I'm wondering how I can center a span within a parent row.

Currently, I am working with Twitter Bootstrap Version 2.3 instead of 3.1. In version 3.1, there is a center-block feature that I cannot utilize in 2.3. Therefore, please refrain from suggesting an upgrade to me.

Thank you in advance!

Answer №1

Make sure to center the span by adding the class text-center.

<div class="span12 text-center">some content</span>

Bootstrap 2.3 introduced alignment classes

If you prefer using your own custom CSS classes, you can achieve the same effect in several ways, such as:

Sample HTML

<div class="row">
  <div class="span12 text-center">some content</div>
</div>

CSS Styling

.row
{
   text-align: center;
}
.span12
{
  display: inline-block;
}
