Empty space to the right of the page when viewed on mobile devices

I am currently learning how to develop websites. I am in the process of building a page for practice, but I have encountered an issue. The page is not responsive below 630px width, and there seems to be white space appearing on the right side of the page. I am unsure why this is happening and how to resolve it.

Could you please assist me?

Here is a screenshot of the problem

Answer №1

If any element within a box (such as an <img>, a <span>, or a <table>) exceeds the width of the browser window, it will cause issues.

Images remain at their original size and text does not automatically break to fit the screen. Additionally, boxes cannot be resized smaller than the sum of all cells in a row.

To prevent the viewport from stretching beyond its limits, various responsive techniques should be implemented.

img {
  max-width: 100%;
}

a,
p,
span {
  hyphens: auto;
}

/* enclose tables in <div class="horizontal-scroll-wrapper"> */
.horizontal-scroll-wrapper {
  overflow-x: scroll;
}

Browser inspectors can be used to identify elements that are not resizable.
