One of my top choices is the jQuery UI.Layout
plugin. It replicates the highly adaptable Java 'border layout'. While there are CSS-only techniques available, I often find them requiring extensive adjustments and causing unintended effects on other layout components. In contrast, using the JavaScript plugin allowed me to achieve desired results in just minutes.
