What is the secret to creating letters to look just like they do in this wireframe?

Currently, I am referencing a wireframe for my project design. You can view it here:

In the top banner of the wireframe, there are two sections labeled "find a hike" and "plan a hike."

I am unsure how to recreate the style of letters used in the banner - white with a brown layer around them. Can anyone provide guidance on achieving this effect?

Furthermore, does anyone know what font is being used in the wireframe? And is this particular font supported by most web browsers?

Answer №1

If you're looking to achieve a text outline effect in CSS3, the text-stroke property is the way to go. Alternatively, using an image might be the simplest solution for cross-browser compatibility.

For more information on text-stroke, check out this link: http://www.example.com/css3-text-stroke-explained

Answer №2

Creating a stroke like that using only CSS is not possible. It appears to be a photoshop effect, so replicating it with live text won't be achievable.

The same goes for the navigation design with the bezel effect. You will need to use an image to recreate that look.

Answer №3

Another idea is to showcase your mastery of Bezier curves using the <canvas> element.
