Is there a way to inform ClientBundle that all images should be actual img elements instead of fake css-background images, as background images are not printed by default in IE9?
Is there a way to inform ClientBundle that all images should be actual img elements instead of fake css-background images, as background images are not printed by default in IE9?
The way the ClientBundle
is generated and how an image is put together from the ImageResource
will determine if it works properly.
Typically, ClientBundle
s' ImageResource
s are created as data:
URLs for most browsers except IE6 and IE7, which utilize sprited images similar to an ImageBundle
. However, in IE8 and IE9, it's important to ensure the correct permutation is selected due to their compatibility modes that can mimic IE6 or IE7. Check the current mode in the IE Developer Tools (press F12
to access).
When dealing with an inlined or external ImageResource
(one using a data:
or http://
URL but not a bundled, also known as sprited image), you can use the getSafeUri()
method of the ImageResource
as the value for the src
attribute of an <img>
element.
Unfortunately, GWT will always employ a technique called clipped image (used for bundling images relying on a CSS background image) when you provide an ImageResource
to Image
or AbstractImagePrototype
. This could be considered a flaw.
