Turn off the functionality of Telerik in DotNetNuke

After installing the DNN module on a remote machine, I noticed that it altered the CSS styling. Upon inspecting it with Firebug, I discovered that the styles causing issues are located in telerik.web.ui.webresource.axd, making it difficult to overwrite them. Even Total Commander has not made it easy to locate and modify these styles. Is there a secure method to disable telerik's caching functions without compromising the site's stability?

(I attempted to disable the telerik module, but it resulted in a total site crash)

Answer №1

Dealing with CSS management in DNN can be quite chaotic; typically, the css settings are configured within the skin. My suggestion would be to either avoid using the default skin for the public-facing section of your site (though it may be fine to keep it for admin purposes, especially since many telerik controls rely on it) or to take a more assertive approach in defining your css by being extremely specific.

It's always beneficial to consider specificity and precedence adjustments in DNN, as you might encounter third-party content that doesn't cooperate well (or is just plain disrespectful by excessively utilizing !important css styles). Detail every aspect of your styles/modules to ensure that your design is effectively applied to your content.
