SCSS, target class, and also the active class

It seems like this could be simplified.

Any suggestions for improving this in SCSS?

.tab,
.tab.active {
    margin:0;
    padding:5px 0 5px 8px;
  }

Answer №1

Affirmative:

.tab {
    &,
    &.active {
        margin: 0;
        padding: 5px 0 5px 8px;
    }
}

However, unless you are not overwriting an existing .active, then .tab.active will inherit from .tab and that would suffice:

.tab {
    margin: 0;
    padding: 5px 0 5px 8px;
}

Answer №2

Follow these instructions:

.section{
  //apply certain styles
  &.current{
   margin:0;
   padding:5px 0 5px 8px;
  }
}
