OnePageCheckout may result in empty boxes being displayed due to OneStepCheckout CSS styling

Seeking advice for an issue with the Magento OneStepCheckout module. Upon checkout, there are three columns: customer data (working fine), payment options (selectable via checkbox), and details about the chosen payment method.

Unfortunately, the information about the payment method is displayed in boxes controlled by CSS. The problem arises when these boxes appear empty with arrows at the top, as shown in this screenshot: https://i.sstatic.net/ka95Z.png

Any suggestions on how to resolve this issue or where to seek help? We welcome any insights you may have!

Answer №1

After some trial and error, I managed to find a solution that worked for me. I decided to move the payment_method.phtml file from OneStepCheckout into my custom design folder located at $namespace/$themename/template/onestepcheckout/payment_method.phtml. By adding style="display:none;" to the html tag, the functionality now works perfectly as intended.

Specifically, I made the following adjustment on Line 88:

<dd id="container_payment_method_<?php echo $_code; ?>" class="payment-method">
    <?php echo $html; ?>
</dd>

The change involved updating it to:

<dd id="container_payment_method_<?php echo $_code; ?>" class="payment-method" style="display:none;">
    <?php echo $html; ?>
</dd>

If you're facing a similar issue, I hope this solution proves helpful to you too! :) Best of luck!
