Is there a way to position right and left divs within a content div on the same top-level?

#textblock{
     width: 260px;
     height: 100%;
     position;
     border: 1px solid #999999;
     padding: 0 5px;
     float: right;
     font-size: 95%;
     background-color: #FEF4CC;
}

#brevillestandard{
    padding: 8px 0 0 5px;
    height: 80px;
    Width: 61%;
    border: 1px solid #999999;
    float: left;
    margin: 5px 5px 5px 0;
}

Answer №1

Could the issue be that they are not aligning properly? To start, I suggest adjusting the top margins and padding to ensure consistency between both divs. Without making these changes, they will not line up correctly.

Currently, the textblock has a 0px top margin and padding set.

On the other hand, brevillestandard is configured with a 13px top margin and padding.

Answer №2

To align them at the top, ensure that their margins are equal. The initial element likely has a default top margin of 0px, whereas the second one is set to 5px.
