Get rid of the margins on your Wordpress theme

Currently, my Wordpress site is using the Tesseract theme which can be found at (http:// instantiwebs . com)

I am interested in removing the left/right margins on all elements, similar to what has been done on this website: . Interestingly enough, they also use the same theme.

After going through the CSS file, I have not been able to locate the section that I need to edit. The stylesheet for the theme can be accessed here:

Any assistance with this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Answer №1

You can easily fix this issue by simply adding the following code snippet at the end of your stylesheet.

NOTE: Remember to include the !important declarations for it to take effect properly.

#site-banner {
    max-width: 100%!important;
    padding-left: 20px;
    padding-right: 20px;
}
#footer-banner {
    max-width: 100%;
    padding: 0 20px;
}
#site-banner-right {
    right: 20px!important;;
}

Answer №2

Try out the handy plugin called Wordpress My Custom CSS.

This tool is perfect for making small CSS tweaks without altering the original theme code. It ensures that your changes won't be lost during updates.

Answer №3

body .site {
    padding: 0;
    margin-top: 0;
    margin-bottom: 0;
    box-shadow: none;
}
