Font discrepancies in HTML field types "text" and "textarea" are causing inconsistent font display

Why do the text in my "text" and "textarea" fields show different fonts on my pages' HTML?

I attempted to specify the font type in both the background CSS file and within the HTML, but it did not resolve the issue.

Just to be transparent...I'm still learning the ropes.

Answer №1

One method to customize the font on your website is by adjusting the following CSS:

textarea {
    font-family: "Tahoma", "Arial", "Arabic Transparent";
}
input[type=text] {
    font-family: "Tahoma", "Arial";
}

I have found this approach to be very effective, but it's important to consider using fonts that are commonly available on your visitors' computers.

Answer №2

textarea, input { font-family: Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; }

Ensure that both the input and textarea share the same font family and size.

Additionally, consider using classes to distinguish between various input fields like text and submit buttons.
