- Are vertical margins collapsed between a floated box and another box?
- Do the margins of absolutely positioned and relatively positioned boxes collapse together?
When it comes to floating elements, margins do not collapse as stated in the spec:
Vertical margins between a floated box and any other box do not collapse (not even between a float and its in-flow children).
Similarly, absolute positioned elements do not experience margin collapsing. According to the same spec:
Margins of absolutely positioned boxes do not collapse (not even with their in-flow children).
Margin collapses occur exclusively between two neighboring block-level
elements when their margins are in the same direction.
