Can you explain the contrast between .picture{} and .picture img{}?

Can someone please explain the distinction between .pic and .pic img to me? I'm noticing different behaviors in my code:

<div class="picture">
                    <img src="picture.jpg" />
</div>

Answer №1

.image img targets the img element within the figure with class .image, and .image specifically selects the figure labeled .image
