When using CSS, the first-letter selector may appear truncated at the paragraph's edge

Having an issue with my drop caps. Visit this page for reference:

In webkit, the :first-letter is getting cut off at the top, while in Firefox it is pushed down a line. Any suggestions on how to resolve this so it spans only two lines and doesn't get cut off at the top?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

The issue lies within the following rule:

.single-item .post-body p + p + p::first-letter,
article.blog .single-item.text p + p::first-letter { ... }

The problematic properties that need attention are line-height and height. After some experimentation, I have discovered that the following values seem to work well:

line-height: 1em;
height: 0.7em;

However, implementing these values may cause the text to span over 3 lines...
