Using Bootstrap to create a fixed footer on a webpage

Is there a substitute for navbar-static-bottom? I currently have my footer set up like this:

<div class="navbar navbar-default navbar-fixed-bottom">
            <div class="container">
                <p class="navbar-text pull-left">&copy; 2015 by Someone. </p>
                <ul class="nav navbar-nav navbar-right">
                        <li><a href="/Default"><strong>Test</strong></a></li>
                    </ul>
            </div>
        </div>

Does anyone have an example of a fixed footer? Essentially, a footer that functions similarly to navbar-static-top? I've tried various methods but haven't had success. It's surprising that such a common alternative seems to be elusive.

Implementing this code will ensure that your footer remains at the bottom of the page, even when scrolling through longer content:

position: fixed;
bottom: 0;
width: 100%;
