What's causing this unexpected wrapping issue?

I must be overlooking something simple. Could someone please review this page and explain why the BYOB section is appearing on the right, rather than directly below the American section?

Thank you in advance.

Answer №1

As a result of the following factors:

  • The bar group is positioned as floating
  • Adjacent space next to the bar group for the BYOB group
  • The BYOB group has its display property set to clear: none (the default)
  • The area between 'bar' and 'BYOB' is shorter than 'bar', creating room underneath it but beside 'bar'

Apply clear: left to every third group starting after the first one (1, 4, 7, 10, etc.)

Answer №2

To ensure proper display, remember to include a clearing element below the <div class="tagPlaces"> for Breakfast:

<div class="tagPlaces">
    <h3><span id="ctl00_ContentPlaceHolder1_TagListView_ctrl2_TagName">Breakfast</span></h3>

    additional content within the div
</div>
<div style="clear: both"></div>
