What is the reason behind fixing an overflow issue simply by moving the mouse outside of a container in IE7 and HTML?

My webpage includes a series of questions, with each question being displayed or hidden based on the answer to the previous question.

Occasionally, after toggling back and forth between questions, I notice that the final question appears below its designated container - indicating that the container did not resize when the question was revealed. However, all it takes is moving my mouse out of the container for it to properly resize and restore the layout as intended.

Could someone shed light on why this issue occurs?

Appreciate any help!

Answer №1

The reason behind this issue may stem from the hasLayout problem specifically found in Internet Explorer 7. To resolve it, consider including the property zoom:1 to the problematic element.
