What is the best way to split a Bootstrap row into five equal-sized columns?

Trying to divide a Bootstrap row into five columns can be tricky when you only have 12 units available on the device. How can this division be achieved successfully?

Answer №1

Remember to apply col-*-2 to each individual column.

You can also utilize justify-content-center to center the columns, especially when there is an odd number of unnecessary columns (e.g. 12/2=6).

  <script src="https://maxcdn.bootstrapcdn.com/bootstrap/4.3.1/js/bootstrap.min.js"></script>

<div class="container">
  <div class="row justify-content-center">
    <div class="col-sm-2">
      1
    </div>
    <div class="col-sm-2">
      2
    </div>
    <div class="col-sm-2">
      3
    </div>
        <div class="col-sm-2">
      4
    </div>
    <div class="col-sm-2">
      5
    </div>
  </div>
</div>
