Unusual display of footer controlled by CSS in certain template pages

I recently made changes to the footer on a template-based website. I noticed that, for some unknown reason, the footer is not appearing at the bottom of the page as it should be.

I wonder if the footer functionality is faulty altogether and if I only got lucky with longer content on some pages?

These pages display the footer correctly:

Services Page Laptop Repair Page

However, the footer is not displaying properly on these pages:

Hours of Operation Page Contact Information Page

Answer №1

The issue pertains to the height of the webpage. The body tag only extends as far as the bottom of the footer, leaving a white space below which belongs to the html element. Unfortunately, there isn't enough content within the body tag to fill the page to the bottom of the browser like other pages.

This limitation is due to the template system in use. There are potential solutions to this problem (such as ) but they might be beyond your control. While adjusting the body element's height CSS property could be a potential fix, it may not be effective in this case.

Answer №2

Could the issue possibly be due to the space between the footer and the content?

If that's the case, try deleting the following CSS declaration:

#content
{
   min-height: 550px;
}

Keep in mind that on pages where the #content div is empty, the contact area may cover the footer upon clicking.
