           <p> A collection of stunning photographs that were not captured by me </p>

I am looking to widen the space between the camera icon and the text content.

Answer №1

To add some space to the right of the icon, simply use the mr-3 class:

<h1 class="display-4"><i class="fas fa-camera-retro mr-3"></i>The Image Gallery</h1>
<p>A collection of stunning images that are not mine</p>

The mr-3 class adds a margin of 3 units to the right of the element.

In Bootstrap, you have the flexibility to choose from 5 different margin and padding options by selecting a number between 1 and 5. Alternatively, using the number 0 will remove any spacing.

Answer №2

Adjusting the margin of the i element produces the desired result:

i {margin-right:20px}
<link href="https://cdnjs.cloudflare.com/ajax/libs/font-awesome/4.7.0/css/font-awesome.min.css" rel="stylesheet"/>
<h1 class="display-4"><i class="fa fa-camera-retro"></i>The Image Gallery</h1>
           <p> A collection of stunning images that were not captured by me</p>

To identify what is overriding your styling, you can inspect the element.
However, the most effective solution might be to ask for help on a platform like Stack Overflow.
