The tab content refuses to show up in its designated fixed location

I've been working on creating a responsive tab system that functions as an accordion on smaller mobile devices, inspired by this example. I've made great progress and I'm almost where I want to be, but for some reason, the active tab content doesn't display in a fixed position at the top of the content area. My goal is to have all content start displaying from the same vertical point. Any insights or assistance on this matter would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance!

There may be a reason why your JavaScript is closing items or your CSS is instructing to close all items. Since there is no JavaScript code provided, I will offer you a CSS solution.

.tabbed-content .item .item-content {
    opacity: 1;
    visibility: visible;
    height: auto;
}

@media all and (min-width: 800px) {
    .tabbed-content .item .item-content {
        opacity: 0;
        visibility: hidden;
        height: 0;
    }
}

After diving deeper into this issue using developer tools, I was able to find a solution that appears to be effective. While there may be other approaches, the one I implemented doesn't seem to cause any performance drawbacks at this stage.

I made some adjustments to the media query for screens wider than 800px based on my previous code implementation.

    section .item.active {
    position:absolute;
    top:20px;
    left:60px;
    margin-right:30px;
}
