The header is not displaying the background image as intended

I'm currently following Colt Steele's course, but I've run into an issue with my background image not showing up. Despite trying different methods like writing inline styles and inserting the background in HTML directly, nothing seems to work. At this point, I opted for a separate CSS file which I find more comfortable using. If anyone has any suggestions or solutions, please let me know. Thank you!

Answer №1

Make sure to include apostrophes (' ') around your URL as it needs to be a string. For example, change '...' to ''https://images.unsplash'...':

#header {
    background-image:  url('https://images.unsplash.com/photo-1564667005686-cce951e72bd0?ixlib=rb-1.2.1&ixid=eyJhcHBfaWQiOjEyMDd9&auto=format&fit=crop&w=3150&q=80') !important;
}
