The floating property doesn't appear to function properly in Internet Explorer versions 6 through 8 when

I've noticed that my website in Dutch looks great on Firefox and Safari (both Mac and PC), as well as Chrome (Mac tested, PC untested), but for some reason it's not displaying correctly on IE 6-8 (which is unavailable on Mac). I suspect there may be an issue with my divs or CSS layout, but I'm not very knowledgeable in HTML/CSS. Unfortunately, I don't have access to IE right now to test.

IE seems to be ignoring the float:left property, causing the second and third columns to shift to the bottom of the screen with only their top borders visible. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Thanks, Jeroen.

It is important to specify a proper "doctype" for Internet Explorer to function correctly. Including something like this should help:

<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN"
    "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">

<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" xml:lang="en" lang="en">
<head>

Additionally, implementing a CSS reset can ensure that styles are consistent across all browsers. You could try using the one from meyerweb or explore other options.

Furthermore, it appears that you are utilizing both tables and floating divs in your layout. Consider whether a float is necessary for your design, as absolute positioning may be more suitable for a fixed-layout like yours.
