The color of the link remains blue when using Firefox

Check out my website at kenastonchiropractic.com

When viewing the site in Chrome, the "Home" link remains the same color as the other links and they all turn white when hovered over. However, in Firefox, the "Home" link stays blue even after being clicked on (although it does change to white when hovered over). Internet Explorer seems to display the links correctly, similar to Chrome.

I have attempted various solutions but have not seen any positive outcomes. If anyone can identify where I am going wrong, I would greatly appreciate it.

Many thanks!

Answer №1

In order to prevent these issues, it is recommended to set colors directly on links like the following:

a{
 display:block;
 text-decoration:none;
 color: #ffffff;
}

Additionally, it is important to regularly update your browser to the latest versions.

Answer №2

Include the following in your code:

#nav ul li:hover a {
    color: rgb(255, 255, 255);
}

Your CSS rule was overridden by the default browser preset because it is more specific.

The rest of the links remain unaffected as you enclosed them with <span style="color:#fff">, overriding their default colors.

Just a heads up - Chrome displays a blue color for the link, similar to all other browsers.

Answer №3

The link labeled "Home" is the sole one that isn't enclosed within <span style="color:#fff">.

Answer №4

Make sure to apply the padding style to the a tags and not the li.

Check out this demo.

<ul>
    <li><a href="#">Home</a></li>
    <li><a href="#">New Patient Process</a></li>
    <li><a href="#">Health Products</a></li>
    <li><a href="#">About Us</a></li>
</ul>
ul li a {
    text-decoration:none;
    display:block;
    padding: 16px 20px;
    color:#583709;
    transition:.5s all;
}

ul li a:hover {
    color:#fff;
    background:#000;
}
