Testing tools for ensuring the functionality and design of the mobile version of a

Is there a way to preview how my website will appear on mobile before it goes live? Most tools I've come across only work for hosted sites.

Answer №1

I prefer using Responsinator.com for testing website responsiveness, although there are numerous similar tools available. Responsinator.com simply embeds your webpage in various device sizes using iframes.

It's worth noting that the website doesn't have to be live online; it can also test locally hosted sites (e.g. on localhost using WAMP/MAMP).

Keep in mind that free tools like this mainly focus on viewport testing rather than browser testing. Services that simulate different device browsers through virtual machines usually come at a cost and require online hosting for testing servers to access.

  2. A helpful collection of resources for mobile site testing.
