placing an empty gap within a visual depiction

My gallery lightbox displays images along with descriptions. However, the descriptions are all showing up in the same line with the same style and color. I want to separate each description on a new line to give some space. Here's an example of how the description text is currently formatted:

 < p > image title < p >
< p > image description < p >

I tried adding &nbsp; to create a space, but it didn't work. How can I add a space in the popup image description?

Thank you!

Answer №1

It appears that the issue is not with closing the "image title" tag, but rather with the "p" tag itself. To ensure proper spacing, consider using a "div" tag instead and adjusting the padding and margin as needed.

<div class="title"> image title </div>

and

<div class="description"> image description </div>

Answer №2

The problem description provided may not be entirely clear, but it seems like the intention is to add spacing at the beginning and end of the P tags. One approach could be to apply padding to the left and right of the P using CSS.

p {
  padding: 0 10px;
}

Alternatively, you can add inline styling directly on the P tag itself...

<p style="padding-left: 10px;">

If the issue pertains to the &nbsp character being ignored, keep in mind that HTML disregards leading spaces. To address this, adjust the white-space property using CSS. For instance...

p {
  white-space: pre-wrap;
}

Answer №3

To adjust the spacing around paragraph elements, apply margins in your CSS:

p {
    margin-left: 10px;
    margin-right: 10px
}
