Click here for image of problem I initially used the code from getbootstrap.com, but the search bar and search button aren't aligning properly in the navbar. I've attempted to selectively align the search option without success. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Below is the code snippet:

<nav class="navbar navbar-expand-lg navbar-light bg-light">
  <a class="navbar-brand" href="#">Navbar</a>
  <button class="navbar-toggler" type="button" data-toggle="collapse" data-target="#navbarSupportedContent" aria-controls="navbarSupportedContent" aria-expanded="false" aria-label="Toggle navigation">
    <span class="navbar-toggler-icon"></span>
  </button>

  <div class="collapse navbar-collapse" id="navbarSupportedContent">
    <ul class="navbar-nav mr-auto">
      <li class="nav-item active">
        <a class="nav-link" href="#">Home <span class="sr-only">(current)</span></a>

Answer №1

To increase the presence of the linking icons/navigation items on your webpage, consider adding margin and padding to give them more space.

Answer №2

It is recommended to wrap your ul and form elements in a div with the d-flex class for better alignment.

<div class="collapse navbar-collapse d-flex">
<div class="d-flex align-items-start">
<ul>
  <li>...
  </li>
  <li class="nav-item">
    <a class="nav-link disabled" href="#">Disabled</a>
  </li>
</ul>
</div>
<div class="d-flex ">
<form class="form-inline my-2 my-lg-0">
  <input class="form-control mr-sm-2" type="search" placeholder="Search" aria-label="Search">
  <button class="btn btn-outline-success my-2 my-sm-0" type="submit">Search</button>
</form>
</div>
</div>
