Misaligned Div Content

Check out my jsfiddle here

The text inside the <div> is shifting upwards

Could someone explain why this is occurring? And suggest a solution? I would truly appreciate any assistance. Thank you!

Answer №1

You should consider removing the line-height: 8%; property from the .rule class.

Answer №2

To resolve the alignment issue, include float:left in the CSS rule for the class.

Here is the updated code with the addition of float property:

.rule{
    height: 8%;
    line-height: 1%;
    width: 50%;
    background-color: #aaa;
    text-align: center;
    margin-bottom: 5%;
    float: left;
}

Answer №3

Here is the fiddle I provided as a solution: https://jsfiddle.net/inchrvndr/ducyaLan/1/

.rule{
    height: 8%;
    width: 50%;
    background-color: #aaa;
    text-align: center;
    margin-bottom: 5%;
}
.event {
    height: 8%;
    width: 50%;
    background-color: #aaa;
    text-align: center;
    margin-bottom: 5%;
}
