Looking for the media queries specific to iPad 3?

Are there specific media query CSS codes available for making layout changes on iPads 3 with a 9.7 inch screen and resolution of 1536 x 2048 pixels (~264 ppi pixel density)?

Answer №1

While the media query for iPad has remained largely unchanged from previous versions, there is one notable difference - the introduction of handling retina displays via the -webkit-min-device-pixel-ratio attribute:

@media only screen
and (min-device-width : 768px)
and (max-device-width : 1024px)
and (-webkit-min-device-pixel-ratio: 2) {
     /* iPad 3 Styles Go Here */
}

Even though these high-resolution retina displays may still have the same device width as earlier models, the mentioned attribute essentially acts as a "multiplier" for your minimum and maximum values.
