Is there a way to use CSS to swap out the content of one HTML element with another HTML element's content?

Having an issue with editing or locating a plugin's HTML template on WordPress. Wondering if it is possible to replace the content of one HTML element with another using just CSS?

Appreciate any help!

Answer №1

One way to achieve this is by utilizing Javascript:

 <p id="p1"> previous content !</p>

    <script>
    document.getElementById("p1").innerHTML = "Fresh text inserted !";
    </script>

Answer №2

CSS, which stands for Cascading Style Sheet, is primarily used for styling web elements and cannot be used to alter text content.

There are two options available:

  1. Find a method within your CMS to modify the HTML content directly.
  2. Alternatively, learn JavaScript and use it for text manipulation (though this may be seen as a less elegant solution).
