Incorporating multiple classes in an HTML document

Can multiple classes be added in HTML? Here is the code I attempted:

<a href="#" class="class1 class2">My Text</a>

Appreciate your help! :)

Answer №1

A common misconception is that you can only declare the class attribute once per HTML element. In reality, you can separate the classes you want to apply by a space, allowing for multiple classes to be assigned to an element.

<div class="class1 class2">My Content</div>

It's important to note that if you declare the class attribute more than once, only the first declaration will be recognized. This means that any classes listed after the initial declaration will be ignored in the styling of your element.

Answer №2

Absolutely, it is possible! You simply need to include all the classes inside the same class attribute:

<a href="#" class="class1 class2">My Text</a>

Answer №3

<a href="#" class="class1 class2">Click Here</a>

Answer №4

To learn more about the global class attribute, visit this link.

The class global attribute consists of a list of classes for the element, separated by spaces.

Remember to use a single class attribute and separate multiple classes with spaces.

<a href="#" class="class1 class2 class3">Click Here</a>
