I'm having trouble getting my footer to stay at the bottom of the page

Struggling to get my footer to stay at the bottom on my blog pages, no matter what I try:

Every time the social media section appears, the footer slides up...

Can't figure out why...

Appreciate any assistance!

Answer №1

Your designated notepad masonry has been aligned to the left.

This positioning causes it to not occupy space within the box model, resulting in the elements below it shifting upwards as they assume the content ends there.

To rectify this issue, consider either removing the floating property or inserting a clear:both div element within to expand it to the height of its contents.

Answer №2

The primary content is not aligned correctly within the designated container. By using Firebug, you will notice that the footer is positioned at the bottom of the container as intended.

Search for the clearfix technique and implement it on the parent container to resolve this issue.

Answer №3

To enhance your website's design, consider including the following CSS code:

#footer {
    ...
    position: fixed;
    bottom: 0;
}

If you prefer not to have a fixed footer, you can eliminate the float: left; property from the

<div class="noteholder masonry">
element.
