How is it possible that I am able to view the font on this particular website?

Recently, I stumbled upon a fascinating website that allows users to experiment with various CSS3 features. As I examined the website's CSS code to enhance my own skills, I noticed something intriguing about the elegant "CSS3Gen" logo - it utilized a font known as Lobster. Despite not having this font installed on my system and failing to find any mention of web fonts, I could still see the logo displayed flawlessly in the Lobster font. This left me wondering how this was achieved.

Answer №1

Within their head section, they incorporate a link to a specific font.

<link  href="//fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Lobster:regular" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" >

Answer №2

Lobster happens to be a font created by Google. By inspecting the page source, you'll find a link to access this font:

<link  href="//fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Lobster:regular" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" >
