How can we consolidate an excess of menu items into a condensed, collapsed menu?

I have a navigation bar displaying category items, but if the menu items exceed the navbar width, how can I condense them into a drop-down menu using Bootstrap 3.0?

Currently, my navbar only shows 10 items due to limited space. However, I have more items that are not visible. See current navbar layout here: https://i.stack.imgur.com/EoyZG.png

How can I dynamically convert the overflowed items into a drop-down menu based on screen size, similar to this example where hovering over "ALL CATEGORIES" reveals the hidden menu items? https://i.stack.imgur.com/7FgeM.png

Is there a way to achieve this using Bootstrap CSS?

Thank you.

For a great starting point and understanding of how the nav-bar classes function, check out this helpful example here.

<nav class="navbar navbar-default">
<div class="container-fluid">
<div class="navbar-header">
  <button type="button" class="navbar-toggle collapsed" data-toggle="collapse" data-target="#bs-example-navbar-collapse-1" aria-expanded="false">
    <span class="sr-only">Toggle navigation</span>
    <span class="icon-bar"></span>
    <span class="icon-bar"></span>
    <span class="icon-bar"></span>
  </button>
</div>
<div class="collapse navbar-collapse" id="bs-example-navbar-collapse-1">
  <ul class="nav navbar-nav">
    <li class="active"><a href="#">Link <span class="sr-only">(current)</span></a></li>
    <li><a href="#">Link</a></li>
    <li class="dropdown">
      <a href="#" class="dropdown-toggle" data-toggle="dropdown" role="button" aria-haspopup="true" aria-expanded="false">Dropdown <span class="caret"></span></a>
      <ul class="dropdown-menu">
        <li><a href="#">Action</a></li>
        <li><a href="#">Another action</a></li>
        <li><a href="#">Something else here</a></li>
        <li role="separator" class="divider"></li>
        <li><a href="#">Separated link</a></li>
        <li role="separator" class="divider"></li>
        <li><a href="#">One more separated link</a></li>
      </ul>
    </li>
    <li class="dropdown">
      <a href="#" class="dropdown-toggle" data-toggle="dropdown" role="button" aria-haspopup="true" aria-expanded="false">Dropdown <span class="caret"></span></a>
      <ul class="dropdown-menu">
        <li><a href="#">Action</a></li>
        <li><a href="#">Another action</a></li>
        <li><a href="#">Something else here</a></li>
        <li role="separator" class="divider"></li>
        <li><a href="#">Separated link</a></li>
      </ul>
    </li>
  </ul>
</div><!-- /.navbar-collapse -->
</div><!-- /.container-fluid -->
</nav>

I've put together a fiddle for you to explore. While this is a basic example, feel free to customize it further with your own CSS styling.
