Is this along the lines of what you're looking for?
img {
max-width: 100%;
}
.image {
position: relative;
display: inline-block;
width: 300px;
}
.image .dialog-image {
opacity: 0;
transition: opacity 300ms;
position: absolute;
top: 0;
right: 10px;
width: 100px;
}
.image:hover .dialog-image {
opacity: 1;
}
<div class="image">
<img src="http://www.jamiesale-cartoonist.com/wp-content/uploads/cartoon-duck-free.png" alt="">
<div class="dialog-image">

</div>
</div>
To enhance your dialog box, assign it a class name like "dialog" and incorporate the following CSS:
.dialog{
position:absolute;
z-index:2;
display:none;
}
.dialog:hover{
display:block;
}
The position:absolute;
property places the dialog box above the image - adjust the positioning according to your HTML structure.
