How can I ensure that Bootstrap Navbar elements are all aligned in a single line?

https://i.sstatic.net/pkxyI.pngI'm experiencing an issue with my code, and I suspect it might be related to Bootstrap. I've tried using align-items-center but it doesn't seem to work as expected. Changing the display property to inline or inline-block hasn't resolved the issue either. Here is the code snippet:

import React, { Component } from "react";
import { Link } from "react-router-dom";
import logo from "../logo.svg";
import styled from "styled-components";
import { ButtonContainer } from "./Button";

export class Navbar extends Component {
  render() {
    return (
      <NavWrapper className="navbar navbar-dark ">
        <Link to="/">
          <img src={logo} alt="store" className="navbar-brand " />
        </Link>
        <ul className="navbar-nav align-items-center">
          <li className="nav-item ">
            <Link to="/" className="nav-link">
              products
            </Link>
          </li>
        </ul>
        <Link to="/cart" className="ml-auto">
          <ButtonContainer>
            <span className="mr-2">
              <i className="fas fa-cart-plus" />
            </span>
            my cart
          </ButtonContainer>
        </Link>
      </NavWrapper>
    );
  }
}

const NavWrapper = styled.nav`
  background: var(--mainBlue);
  .nav-link {
    color: var(--mainWhite);
    fontsize: 1.3rem;
    text-transform: capitalize;
  }
`;

export default Navbar;
