"Exploring the variations in design between wordpress.com and self-hosted wordpress

I'm currently puzzling over the source of the disparities in style between my Wordpress site hosted elsewhere and my identical theme on Wordpress.com. It's perplexing to see such contrasting appearances while I migrate my blog.

After some irrelevant experimenting, I realize that the issue remains unresolved.

What could be causing this discrepancy? Despite examining the CSS & JS files, the solution continues to elude me.

Answer №1

There is a significant contrast in the HTML and CSS between the two websites. Moreover, the wordpress.com site appears to be incorporating a larger number of resources compared to your .org site. By examining the NET tab in your Chrome debugger, you can identify additional CSS files being loaded on the .com site that might conflict or override existing styles.

It's crucial to ensure that all CSS, images, and JavaScript from the original site are correctly imported into the new site; failure to do so could result in discrepancies between the sites.
