Ensure that the height of the content in JQuery Mobile is set to 100

I'm currently working on an app using JQuery Mobile.

Check out this link for my HTML code.

There's a full-screen <iframe> within my page. Even though I've specified

width:100%; height:100%; border:0%
for the iframe, it ends up being taller than the content itself and causes the main page to display a scrollbar.

Anyone know how to solve this issue? (I really need the height:100% to work as intended for my iframe)

Answer №1

Thank you to everyone for your input!

After much trial and error, I've finally come up with a solution. It may be a bit messy, but it works.

Here is the CSS code I used:

html,body{overflow-y:hidden}
.frame {
    height: 100% ;
    width: 100% ;
    border: 0  ;
    background-color: green ;
}

.content {
    height: 100%;
    width: 100%;
    overflow-y: hidden;
}

.ui-content {
    margin: 0   !important ;
    padding: 0   !important ;
    border: 0   !important ;
    outline: 0   !important ;
    height: 100%  ;
    overflow: hidden  ;
}

However, when using JQuery Mobile header, there was an extra space equal to the size of the header. This issue can be fixed with the following Javascript:

function correctFrameSize() {
    document.getElementById('content').style.height = (window.innerHeight-40)+"px";
}

Could it be that the margin and/or padding on the body and/or html are being set by the browser?

You might consider using a traditional CSS reset to address this issue.

html, body, div, span, applet, object, iframe,
h1, h2, h3, h4, h5, h6, p, blockquote, pre,
a, abbr, acronym, address, big, cite, code,
del, dfn, em, font, img, ins, kbd, q, s, samp,
small, strike, strong, sub, sup, tt, var,
dl, dt, dd, ol, ul, li,
fieldset, form, label, legend,
table, caption, tbody, tfoot, thead, tr, th, td {
    margin: 0;
    padding: 0;
    border: 0;
    outline: 0;
    font-weight: inherit;
    font-style: inherit;
    font-size: 100%;
    font-family: inherit;
    vertical-align: baseline;
}
/* don't forget to define focus styles! */
:focus {
    outline: 0;
}
body {
    line-height: 1;
    color: black;
    background: white;
}
ol, ul {
    list-style: none;
}
/* make sure tables have 'cellspacing="0"' in the markup */
table {
    border-collapse: separate;
    border-spacing: 0;
}
caption, th, td {
    text-align: left;
    font-weight: normal;
}
blockquote:before, blockquote:after,
q:before, q:after {
    content: "";
}
blockquote, q {
    quotes: "" "";
}

To prevent the scrollbar from appearing, you can use a CSS rule like this:

html, body {overflow-y: hidden;}

Hey @Mahdi, give this a shot!

<iframe src="https://example.com/video" width="100%" height="100%" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen>Your browser doesn't support iframes.</iframe>

Let me know if this works for you! :)
