Customizing background images for individual web pages

Having some trouble changing the background image on my Squarespace website homepage. After exploring forums and inspecting my website's source code, I tried using the id

#collection-51648018e4b0d7daf0a7cece
to target just the homepage background but it didn't work. However, when I used #navigator instead, the change applied to all pages. Does anyone have a solution for this issue? I've contacted Squarespace support with no luck. Keep in mind that I can only add custom CSS or inject code into the <head> tags since I cannot modify the actual website code.

Answer №1

Customize the #navigator selector specifically for the main landing page:

#collection-51648018e4b0d7daf0a7cece #navigator {
  background-image: url('custom-image.png');
}

Update: After reviewing your code, it seems like you may want to use this instead:

#collection-51648018e4b0d7daf0a7cece #navigator {
  background: #fff url('custom-image.png') scroll no-repeat top right;
}
