CSS Sizing of Lists with Absolute Positioning

I am facing a challenge with adjusting the display format of the content in my List. I cannot seem to figure out how to make the width and height of the UL adjust automatically based on the LI content.

Here is the updated fiddle link where you can see the issue: jsfiddle.net/devin85/tMYxT/7

When hovering over the level 2 items, such as "Bus Stops," "Employees," "Fences," and "Vehicles," you will better understand the problem I am experiencing.

Thank you for your assistance.

Sincerely, Devin

Answer №1

To restrict the height of the sub-menu to 32px, you can adjust the following CSS (line:32):

#navigation .submenu {
display: none;
position: absolute;
top: 32px;
left: 0px;
background-color: transparent;
white-space: nowrap;
width: auto;
height: auto;
}

Answer №2

Ensure to include the following line at the bottom of your CSS stylesheet:

#navigation .submenu .submenu { height:auto; }
