Are there any specific requirements or preferences for using .0 in em?

I'm struggling to find a concrete solution.

In a nutshell, would it be more appropriate to utilize font-size: 2.0em; or font-size: 2em;?

Answer №1

Using 2.0em is always a safe choice.

However, the widely-accepted practice is to stick with 2em.

Throughout my 15 years of working with CSS, I can confidently say that I have never come across 2.0em.

Nevertheless... regardless of the format you choose, make sure to include the correct attribute:

  • font-size

Answer №2

There is no guaranteed correct answer, as this is simply a matter of personal choice.

It is not obligatory. Personally, I only add the .XX when it is necessary. I find it to be more easily understood that way.
