What is the best way to create a sharp perpendicular edge in the middle of a div using CSS?

I'm looking to create a div similar to this design.

https://i.sstatic.net/8k9kz.png

After trying various methods, I can't seem to get the edge of the Twitter circle to show up in the middle. Can anyone provide guidance on how to achieve this? Thank you!

Answer №1

Is something along these lines what you're looking for?

body {background:#FFFFFF;padding:20px}

p {background:black; -webkit-border-radius: 10px;
-moz-border-radius: 10px;
border-radius: 10px; width:250px; height:50px}

.arrow_div{border:solid 10px transparent;border-right-color:#000;position:absolute;margin:-50px 0 0 -20px;}
<p></p>
<div class="arrow_div"></div>

Adjust the color, height, width of your div as needed.
