What are some ways to display unprocessed image data on a website using JavaScript?

I have an API endpoint that provides image files in raw data format. How can I display this image data on a website using the img tag or CSS background-image property, without utilizing canvas?

One possible approach is shown below:

$.get({
  url: '/some-image',
  success: function(data) {
    // Load and display raw image data on the webpage.
  },
});

In my scenario, I am actually utilizing a library called axios, but I used a jQuery example for clarity.

Just to clarify, the received data appears like this:

JFIF ( %!1!%)+...383-7(-.+
-------------+-------------+-+--+-----------+-----+"?!1AQa"q2RBr#b$4D%!1A2Q"Ca?]0`Va:TER$jy$6GcPQ$Fk, ;D\el(GE[c,wP&J1rz.mM]!\ \̺I:.[&o=~z7Y'#T _%u+rgip^c[Eʔ)Eb x=U!M36k8R0&<?KKnpd+'Vt|lZi1Pic*R798 b]A<ݿ@mw} kBjѲٸTmm+ǖGjv&D:Ƽ$sD2zf

To get started, save the file as a blob and then convert it into a URL. Finally, set this URL as the source for your image element.

You can use the createObjectUrl API to convert a Blob into a URL.

If your ajax library doesn't handle blobs smoothly (such as when using fetch with response.blob()), you can manually create a blob from raw bytes by using new Blob([data], "image/jpeg") or a similar method.
