Ways to retrieve and contrast the border style of an image utilizing javascript

I'm currently attempting to identify images on my webpage that have the style border: 1px #c6c6c6 solid;

let images = document.getElementsByTagName('img');
for (let i = 0; i < images.length; i++) {
    if (images[i].style.border === "1px #c6c6c6 solid") {
        console.log(images[i].style.border);
    }
}

Unfortunately, I am not receiving any alerts.

Answer №1

Your method is not optimal.
If the order of the properties were to change, your if statement would evaluate to false, which may not achieve the desired outcome.

A better approach would be to assign a class to the image:

<img src="..." class="with-border">

Then in the CSS:

img.with-border {
    border: 1px solid #C6C6C6;
}

In your JavaScript, check if the image has the specified class:

var imgs = document.getElementsByTagName('img');
for (i = 0; i < imgs.length; i++) {
    if (-1 !== imgs[i].className.indexOf('with-border')) {
        alert(imgs[i]);
    }
}
