unable to connect css file to document

My index.html file is not reading the style.css file for some reason, even though it is linked. I have added the type and checked the path, but still facing issues. Can anyone help troubleshoot this problem? Thank you.

Answer №1

The problem has been resolved by identifying a missing root variable.

Answer №2

Give it a Shot:

<html>
<head>
<link rel="stylesheet" href="./style.css">
<meta charset="utf-8">
<meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width, initial-scale=1">
<link rel="stylesheet" href="font-awesome.css">
<!-- Add Head Content Here-->
</head>
<body>
<!-- Insert Body Content Here-->
</body>
<html>

Additionally, if you included a screenshot for your CSS File and previously mentioned that the issue originated from the CSS File rather than the linking process (indicating any errors in the CSS File could cause the entire file to malfunction).

Answer №3

You're on the right track, but there might be one issue - the css file isn't located in the same folder as the index. Try moving it to the correct location and also consider removing type="text/css" from your code, as that could potentially solve the problem.
