"Troubleshooting problems with jQuery accordion collapse and styling using CSS

I'm currently dealing with an issue regarding my accordion design. I have customized the stylesheet using themeroller, but when I collapse one of the sections, the header changes to black instead of reverting back to its original red color. I've checked the CSS and suspect that it may be a JavaScript problem because the hover color is set to black and seems to stay that way even when collapsed.

Answer №1

Remember to locate this specific CSS rule

.ui-state-hover, .ui-widget-content .ui-state-hover, .ui-widget-header .ui-state-hover, .ui-state-focus, .ui-widget-content .ui-state-focus, .ui-widget-header .ui-state-focus {
    background: url("/includes/templates/theme376/css/images/ui-bg_highlight-soft_100_100909_1x100.png") repeat-x scroll 50% 50% #F50019;
    border: 1px solid #F50019;
    color: #FFFFFF;
    font-weight: normal;
}

The issue arises from the presence of the class .ui-state-focus, which results in a black background for the selected menu item while in focus. To resolve this, either eliminate the class from the rule or redefine it as follows:

.ui-state-focus { background: none }

Answer №2

Once the header is closed by clicking, <h3> receives the class ui-state-focus. Consider verifying if the click action is responsible for closing it and if true, Remove the class ui-state-focus to alter the applied css rule.
