Troubleshooting Problem with HTML Links in jQuery Accordion

After experimenting with adding a link to the HTML section of the accordion, I discovered that the link appears bold and does not open. I attempted to create a class or ID to fix this issue, but my efforts were unsuccessful. http://jsfiddle.net/q2Gm9/

Answer №1

Make sure to set the target attribute as blank for it to function correctly

<dl class="accordion">

<dt><a href="">Panel 1</a></dt>
<dd><a href="http://www.google.com" target="_blank">Google</a></dd>

</dl>

To fix your issue, simply remove font-weight:bold from your class

 a {
       display: block;
        color: black;
        font-weight: bold;
      }

The corrected code should be:

 a {
       display: block;
        color: black;
        }

Answer №2

Consider implementing a similar approach in your code

           window.open("www.mywebsite.com","_self")
